Animal Testing - Necessary or Barbaric and Wrong.
Animal abuse and cruelty is wrong. Animals arent given their rights that they are supposed to have in the first place. Using animals as “lab rats” is cruel and unfair. Most animal abuse or cruelty goes on with nothing be reported or said about. The punishment for abusing an animal isn’t as harsh as it should be.
Animal testing is costing many animals their lives and is costing many of us millions of dollars. More than 100 million animals, ranging from mice to monkeys, are suffering and dying in cruel chemical, drug, food and cosmetic tests, biology lessons, medical training exercises, and curiosity-driven medical experiments (“Animals Used for Experimentation”, n. d. ).
Animal testing is morally wrong and had not benefited humans as the media has claimed, but there are alternatives if only humans would take the first step. Animal testing is inhumane and unethical based on the scientifically supported claim that humans are also animals and have much to learn from them.
In the current discussions of animal testing, an important argument has been whether or not animal testing is wrong, considering that animals have feelings. One viewpoint is that using animals for testing is completely okay and important in human survival.
Animal testing is cruel and inhuman! It is morally wrong to toture animals for our own benefit. Over 3 million animals have been tormented all in the name of research. It has been found that only 5-25% of side effects caused by medicines are accurately predicted. This leads me to wonder what is actually being gained by animal experimentation.
